Terms of Use

The ground rules for using this site, and the limits of what anything here means.

Terms

No legal advice, no attorney-client relationship

Overage Desk is not a law firm and does not practice law. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading it or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Claims are prepared and filed by licensed Texas attorneys, and any attorney-client relationship is formed directly with that attorney under their own engagement terms.

Information is general

Statutes, deadlines, and court practice change, and how they apply depends on the facts of your file. Descriptions of Texas law on this site are general summaries, may not reflect the most current law, and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice about your situation.

No guarantee of outcome or amount

Any figure shown on this site is illustrative unless it appears in a written analysis prepared for you. Whether a surplus exists, what it nets after competing claims, and whether a court releases it are all fact-dependent. Past results do not predict any particular outcome.

Fees

Our fee is contingent on recovery. If no funds are recovered, you owe us nothing. The exact fee is set out in a written engagement agreement signed before work is filed, and where Texas law caps compensation for pursuing a claim on another person's behalf, our fee complies with that cap. This site's general statements about fees do not replace that agreement, which controls.

Your submissions

Information you submit should be accurate and yours to give. Do not submit information about someone else's property or identity without authority to do so. We may decline any matter for any lawful reason.

Site use

You may not scrape, copy, or republish this site's content commercially, interfere with its operation, or use it to send unsolicited communications. Content and marks on this site belong to Overage Desk.

Third-party links

Links to county offices, courts, and other resources are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and Overage Desk is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Venue lies in the state courts of Texas.
